Our KashBack ambassador has just returned from a three week ‘round South Africa Trip.’ After travelling over 5000kms from Cape Town along the beautiful Garden route, through sunny Kwazulu-Natal to bustling Gauteng with a little detour to Limpopo, he eventually weaved his way back to Cape Town.
Laden with brochures, brochure stands, digital photo frames, and good music cd’s, Richard set off on a misty Monday morning! His first port of call was the Breede River Lodge. He had no time for fishing though, as he was soon on his way to Knysna. Now as anyone knows, you shouldn’t get directions from a woman, but unfortunately for Richard, his route was planned by a woman and instead of sending him first to Crawfords Cabin on Beacon Isle, and then onto Tsitsikamma Lodge, he was told to go the other way! Needless to say, this added a few more km’s (and grey hairs) to his already long journey. The good news of course, was that he then decided to use his trusted Garmin instead and thus avoided getting lost again.
From beautiful Knysna he travelled on to Alicedale. Now, if you’re anything like me, you might never have heard of Alicedale, but let me tell you, once you see the set up at Bushman Sands, you’re not likely to forget it ever again. The next stop was Port Alfred. Here he was kept rather busy with The Halyards Lodge & Spa and the Royal Guest House. The next day it was time for The Blue Lagoon in East London, Richard swears he saw Brooke Shields on the beach, but we’re not going to go there. The Crawfords Beach Lodge welcomed him with open arms and he rested there before making the next leg of his journey all the way to the Durban!
Now wouldn’t you just love to go to Ushaka Marine world? Unfortunately Richard couldn’t go there, because he was visiting two beautiful hotels, The Beach and The Tropicana. Come on summer! It wasn’t too long after that Richard was once again on the road. The Drakensberg Gardens Golf and Spa Resort was where he was headed and although he wanted to play a couple of rounds, he had work to do. Next on his itinerary was the Natal Spa Hot Springs Resort. Just the place to take the family for a relaxing weekend.
Eventually he was making the long drive to Gauteng, and let me tell you, here he was worked to the bone! He visited the Sandton Lodge group, who have lodges in Sandton, Inanda and Rivonia. He made a quick pit stop at Faircity Mapungubwe, before taking a well deserved weekend break at the Sanrock Resort and Conference Centre in Limpopo. Don’t worry though, we made him work there also!
He was by this stage almost half way and the next destination was our beautiful capital Pretoria! Man, oh man, did he work ever so hard here. There are the other Faircity properties, RoodeVallei and Grosvenor Gardens, Hotel 224, Murray Street 137 and then a short hop over to Midrand where he met with the guys and gals at The Midrand Conference Centre and The Midrand Executive hotel. In the hot Jo’burg sun, he finally made his way back to Fourways to the legendary Indaba Hotel and the quaint Fabz Estate.
With one last overnight stay, he drove his little beemer to Bloemfontein to The Stanville Hotel.
This is not the end of his trip, however, but we just couldn’t keep him away from the Mother City any longer. There are still some Chakela properties that he didn’t get to this time round, so he will have to do another trip, sometime later this year! I’m sure he’ll have yet another adventure.
